Betfred Championship Round Up | Round 14

Round 14 of the Betfred Championship got underway as Bradford Bulls bounced back under the Friday Night Lights.

They hosted Batley at Odsal and ran in five tries, including a Guy Armitage hat-trick.

Meanwhile, Featherstone went head-to-head with Halifax. It was a closely fought first forty, with the scores locked in at 16-16 with 47 minutes played.

Then, it was three tries from Brad Day, Gareth Gale and James Glover which would see Fev go on to take the two points.

This leaves ‘Fax without a win in their last five matches as they only just hang on to sixth spot...with the Rovers breathing down their necks in seventh.

On Saturday, Toulouse made it eight wins on the spin with a victory over Oldham in the south of France and remain two points clear at the top of the Championship table.

An in-form York Knights continued their winning streak in Round 14 after forging a crazy comeback to beat Widnes.

It was the Vikings who racked up an impressive 18-0 lead inside the first 20 minutes – with scores from Rhys Williams, Jake Maizen and Dan Murray.

But what followed was a phenomenal first half Ben Jones-Bishop hat-trick which brought the Knights immediately back into the contest.

And although York trailed by two points at the interval, they went on to perform formidably in the second stanza and stunned their opponents.

Not only did Mark Applegarth's men pile on three more tries, but they also kept the Vikings scoreless.

In the South Yorkshire Derby, Doncaster recorded their first away win over Sheffield since 2014. This is also their first derby league double in 25 years.

Edene Gebbie kept up his fine try-scoring form to secure a brace in the opening 40 minutes, with Connor Robinson also finding the line to see Richard Horne's men take a two-try advantage into the break.

Brad Hey then added the finishing touch for the Dons with a late score on the left-hand side.

Kris Welham and Corey Johnson were the scorers for the hosts.

Finally, Barrow returned to action with a comprehensive victory over bottom-place Hunslet.

The Cumbrian outfit ran riot at the South Leeds Stadium running in ten tries and completing their first nilling of an opponent in 2025.

Hat-tricks came from Shane Toal and Tee Ritson as the Raiders responded to their disappointing home defeat last week.

They sit in fifth at the end of the round, and are among the top six mix with Toulouse, Bradford, York, Oldham and Halifax who are below them.

But how long with might this last with the other teams chasing them down?
